Steve Holy - Good Morning Beautiful

This song is written and sung by artist Steve Holy, and titled “Good Morning Beautiful”. This song is a cute song that goes along with being in love. It’s about waking up with that person you love and looking at them and smiling and calling them beautiful, when you know someone looks their worst when they just wake up. These lyrics look through the makeup and see someone at their worst and thinks they are beautiful, which what love is really about. The lyrics to Good Morning Beautiful by Steve Holy are;

"Good morning beautiful
How was your nightMine was wonderful
With you by my sideAnd when I open my eyes
And see your sweet face
It's a good morning beautiful day

I didn't see the light
I didn't know day from night
I had no reason to care
But since you came along
I can face the dawn
Cause I know you'll be there

Good morning beautiful
How was your night
Mine was wonderful
With you by my side
And when I open my eyes
And see your sweet face
It's a good morning beautiful day

I'll never worryIf it's raining outside
Cause in here with you girl
The sun always shinesGood morning beautiful
How was your nightMine was wonderful
With you by my side
And when I open my eyes
And see your sweet face
It's a good morning beautiful day, yeah
A good morning beautiful...day"

Rebeeca Lynn Howard - Forgive

This song is called Forgive by Rebecca Lynn Howard, and just like the title suggests it’s all about forgiveness. It’s a situation between a male and a female, obviously something the male did to the woman that she is finding it so hard deep down to forgive her significant other. She thinks that it’s too soon for her to forgive him. I agree with her, she should wait and forgive on her own time if the male is at fault, this song is okay but the lyrics are better. Rebecca Lynn Howard has a gorgeous voice which makes the song all that better, the lyrics are;

"I always said that'd be it
That I wouldn't stick around
If it ever came to this
Here I am so confused
How am I supposed to leave
When I can't even move
In the time that it would've took to say"Honey I'm home, how was your day"
You dropped a bomb right where we live
And just expected me to forgive
Well that's a mighty big word
For such a small man
And I'm not sure I can'Cause I don't even know now who I amIt's too soon for me to say forgiveI should ask but I won'tWas it love or just her touch'Cause I don't think I want to knowSo get you some things and get outDon't call me for a day or twoSo I can sort this outWell you might as well've ripped the lifeRight out of me, right here tonightWhen through the fallen tears you saidCan you ever just forgiveWell that's a mighty big wordFor such a small manAnd I'm not sure I can'Cause I don't even know now who I amIt's too soon for me to say forgiveWell you know what they sayForgive and forget,Relive and regretForgive, well that's a mighty big wordFor such a small manAnd I'm not sure I can'Cause I don't even know now who I amIt's too soon for me to say forgiveIt's too soon for me to say Forgive

Buddy Jewel - Help Pour out the Rain

This song is by Buddy Jewel titled Help Pour out the Rain. This song is about a little girl who keeps asking her daddy questions while in the car, she started playing twenty questions as he would call it. She was asking about what happens when you get to heaven and what heaven is like. This song is really cute because it catches tear in Buddy Jewels eye as he sings. In the lyrics he even has to pull the car over because he gets emotional. This song talks about the little things that a child would say that touches your heart in a way, the lyrics are:

The moment was custom-made to order:
I was ridin' with my daughter on our way back from
Monroe. An' like children do, she started playin' twenty
questions,But I never would've guessed one would
touch me to my soul.

She said: "Daddy, when we get to
Heaven, can I taste the Milky Way?"
Are we goin' there to visit, or are we goin' there to stay?"
Am I gonna see my Grandpa? Can I have a pair of wings?"
An' do you think that God could use another Angel,
"To help pour out the rain?"

Well, I won't lie: I pulled that car right over,
An' I sat there on the shoulder tryin' to dry my misty eyes.
An' I whispered: "Lord, I wanna thank you for my children."
'Cause your innocence that fills them often takes me by surprise.
"Like: "Daddy, when we get to Heaven, can I taste the Milky Way?
"Are we goin' there to visit, or are we goin' there to stay?"
Am I gonna see my Grandpa?

Can I have a pair of wings?"An' do you think that
God could use another Angel,"To help pour out the rain?"
Well, I thought about it later on,An' a smile came to my
face. An' when I tucked her in to bed,I got down on my
knees an' prayed.Lord, when I get to Heaven, can
I taste the Milky Way?"I don't wanna come to visit
'cause I'm comin' home to stay."

An' I can't wait to see my family and meet Jesus
face to face."An' do you think, Lord, you could
use another Angel,"To help pour out the rain?"
Mmmm, can I help pour out the rain?"

Vince Gill - Go Rest High

This song by Vince Gill is rather sad, and it’s titled Go Rest High. I have been to a few funerals and this is the choice of song that is played. This song is about death and where someone goes after they are dead. How that persons work on earth is done and heaven is shouting out for you, so the only thing left for you to do is go rest high on that mountain. Everyone on earth is hurt and missing them, yet heaven is reaching out for him and it’s his time to go. If you’re not in the mood to cry don’t listen to this song, but read the lyrics to Go Rest High by Vince Gill;

Go Rest High – Vince Gill

"I know your life
On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain

Go rest high on that mountain
Son, you work on earth is done
Go to heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and Son
Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve
I wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing
Go rest high on that mountain
Son, you work on earth is done
Go to heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and Son"

Jeff Bates - One Second Chance

This song by Jeff Bates is called One Second Chance; this song is all about wanting to give someone a second chance, not in a relationship but in the work world. This individual spent some time in jail and his resume has a few years missing and every interview he enters they ask about the past years he was in jail. His ex wife also wouldn’t give him a second chance when it came to their son, it’s sad when you listen to it because you wonder why nobody will give him a second chance yet what did he do to get himself in this situation. The lyrics are:

"It says here you're from Houston: You're certified to drive a truck.
"It doesn't say what you been doin' the last five years."
Then I watched his eyes keep readin',
then I watched his eyes look up,
An' watched another job I needed disappear.

'Cause when they get to the line:
"Have you been convicted of a crime?"
They say: "Thanks for comin' in," an' they don't call you back.
I ain't askin' for every job under the sun:
I just want one second chance.

On August twenty-second, well, little Jacob's turnin' five,
But his Momma moved him half-a-state away.
I left another message on her phone at home last night,
An' she fin'lly had her lawyer call today.
She knows I can't afford to take this thing to court,
And I'm tryin' hard to make her understand:
I ain't askin' for every weekend of every month,
I just want one second chance.

I was young an' I was stupid: I regret it every day.
I ain't sayin' I didn't do it but I 've paid for my mistakes.
It's a lost and empty feelin' when they don't want you around,
Yeah, I finally got my freedom but what good is it now?

There's some days when it feels like it's been a hundred years;
Sometimes it feels like only yesterday.
We were paintin' Jacob's nursery, countin' days till he was here.
Next thing I knew, I'd thrown it all away.
Now I know I can't go back to the life I used to have,
When I still held the whole world in my hands:
I had a job, I had a wife, I had a son,
Now I just want one second chance.”

Heartland - I Loved Her First

Last summer I attended a few weddings and this was their song of choice for the father – daughter dance at the reception, I Loved Her First by Heartland. This song came out a few years back and as soon as it did, you knew it would be one of those songs that make it to weddings all over the place. This song is about the relationship between a father and a daughter, and how the father is having a hard time giving his daughter up at a wedding because he loved her first. This song is about a father and daughter yet directed towards his daughter’s future husband. The lyrics for Heartland’s I Loved Her First are;

''Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and each others face
So much in love your alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one
She told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it still hard to give her away
I loved her first

How could that beautiful women with you
Be the same freckle face kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairy tales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But its still hard to give her away

I loved her firstFrom the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm going through
When a miracle smiles up at youI loved her first"

Ashley Gearing - Can You Hear Me When I Talk to You

Ashley Gearing was a young girl when she wrote this song, and after reading the lyrics I think it’s about her father passing away, and what she does to communicate with him in heaven. This song is titled Can You Hear Me When I Talk to You. This song is about a little girl talking to her dad in heaven, when you listen to the song though you don’t know she is talking about her father until the end. She tries to talk to him, yet doesn’t know if they words are getting through to him and she isn’t sure if he hears her or not. This song is slow paced and a really cute song. The Lyrics to Ashley Gearing’s Can You Hear Me When I Talk To You:

Can You Hear Me When I Talk to You – Ashley Gearing

"Time passes by so quickly
But I guess I thought you'd be here forever
I never even had a chance
To say goodbye
There's so many things to tell you
Left unsaid until now

Can you hear me when I talk to you?
Do the words I say ever make it through?
Can you hear me when I talk to you?
'Cause I'd give anything if I knew

Every night I have the same dream
The one where you get to hold me
We laugh and talk until the morning
And then you vanish,yeah
It always leaves me feeling helpless
When I wake up and you're not there

Can you hear me when I talk to you?
Do you know how much I'd love to be with you?
Can you hear me when I talk to you?
'Cause I'd give anything if I just knew
Living in this world without you
I constantly search through my memories
Hoping that I find some treasures
That I passed over,yeah
All that I took for granted
Means so much now and I won't let it go

Can you hear me when I talk to you?
'Cause I never said some things that I meant to
Can you hear me when I talk to you?
'Cause I'd give anything if I just knew
You know I never said some things that I meant to
Can you hear me when I talk to you?
'Cause I'd give anything if I just knew

I miss you Daddy"

Gary Nichols - Unbroken Ground

Most people probably don’t know a lot about Gary Nichols because he only has one or two songs out on the radio. This song by Gary Nichols is called Unbroken Ground. This song is about the way he would be in a relationship, that it wouldn’t be easy, and you would have to be patient if you were in a relationship with him by if you dig a little deeper down it all comes easily. So loving him would be like working on unbroken ground. Gary Nichols in this song is comparing a love relationship to being a farmer which is a good way for a male to relate to this song. The lyrics for Unbroken Ground are:

Unbroken Ground – Gary Nichols

"OoohOh, oh.

Let me tell you now

This field ain't ever been plowed.

But that don't mean it can't

It just ain't happened yet

But, baby, you seem to see past the weeds

So before you take a chance on me

Let me warn you what you're gonna get.

It's gonna be a hard row, but it'll be worth it

Cause I know, underneath the surface

What's a-waiting if you dig a little deeper down

Keep doin' what you're doin', patiently

'Cause nothin' worth growin' comes easily

Lovin' me's gonna be like workin' unbroken ground.

I guess you could say that I've been the one to blame

'Cause I'm the one that built this fence

Keepin' people out of my heart

Baby, you somehow got to me

An' found a way to plant a seed

So let me say, before you go too far,

That it's gonna be a hard row, but it'll be worth it'

Cause I know, underneath the surface

What's a-waiting if you dig a little deeper down

So keep doin' what you're doin', patiently

'Cause nothin' worth growin' comes easily

Lovin' me's gonna be like workin' unbroken ground.

Oh, it's gonna be a hard row, but it'll be worth it

'Cause I know, underneath the surface

What's a-waiting if you dig a little deeper down

So keep doin' what you're doin', patiently

'Cause nothin' worth growin' comes easily

Lovin' me's gonna be like workin' unbroken ground.

Ooh, lovin' me's gonna be like workin' unbroken ground."

Emerson Drive - I Should Be Sleeping

This song is written by Emerson Drive titled I Should Be Sleeping. This song is exactly what the title says as in I should be sleeping, instead he is up all night dreaming of “you” which in this case is another women. He keeps replaying every step and every move together in his head which keeps him tossing and turning at night. This song is cute how a male would admit that the love of a woman could be so wonderful that it would keep him restless at night. The lyrics for Emerson Drive’s I Should Be Sleeping are:

I should be Sleeping – Emerson Drive

"I never knew there were such great movies
On TV at 3 a.m.I'd never guessed at a midnight
TuesdayI could have pizza ordered in
I've never been a real night-owl
But these days I'm all turned 'round
There's only one thing I'm sure of right now

I should be sleeping,'stead of keeping
These late hours I've been keeping
I've been pacing and retracing
Every step of every move
An even though I'm feeling so right
I'm so happy,still I know

I should be sleeping,'stead of dreamin' about you
I never knew I was funny'Til
I went and made you laugh
I never liked a girl that called me: "Honey"
But you did,I like thatI keep thinking about your smile
Tryin' to read between the lines
Looks like I'll be here for a whileI should be sleeping,
'stead of keepingThese late hours I've been keeping
I've been pacing and retracing
Every step of every move
An even though I'm feeling so right
I'm so happy, still I knowI should be sleeping,'stead of dreamin' about you
After just three day (just three days)
One great kiss (One great kiss)
It's way too soon
To be obsessin'like this

I should be sleeping,'stead of keeping
These late hours I've been keeping
I've been pacing and retracing
Every step of every move
An even though I'm feeling so right
I'm so happy,still I know
I should be sleeping,'stead of dreamin' about you
Dreamin' about youI should be sleeping, dreamin' about you
I'm dreamin' about you, yeah"

Carolyn Dawn Johnson - So Complicated

This song by Carolyn Dawn Johnson is titled So Complicated. This is one of Carolyn Dawn Johnson’s slower songs, and about the different emotions she is feeling about a certain somebody. She is scared at the way she feels, yet it is written all over her face, when this particular person walks into the room she wants to hide in embarrassment that he can see what she is feeling. Before when they were just friends she used to laugh, and hug the way friends do but now whenever he touches even just her hand she goes crazy inside. Then the chorus tells us how complicated of a situation she is in and how complicated her emotions are becoming. The lyrics for Carolyn Dawn Johnson’s So Complicated are:

So Complicated – Carolyn Dawn Johnson

"I'm so scared that the way I feel, Is written all over my face
When you walk into the room, I wanna find a hiding place.
We used to laugh, we used to hug, the way that old friends do.
But now, a smile and a touch of your hand, Just makes me come unglued.
Such a contridiction, do I lie or tell the truth.
Is it fact or fiction, Oh the way I feel for you.

So complicated, I'm so frustrated.
I wanna hold you close, I wanna push you away,
I wanna make you go, I wanna make you stay.
Should I say it.Should I tell you how I feel.
Oh, I want you to know.
But then again I don't.
It's so complicated.

Oh..just when I think I'm under control.
I think I got a grip.
Another friend tells me that, my name is always on your lips.
They say I'm more than just a friend,
they say I must be blind.
Well, I admit that I've seen you watch me from the corner of your eye.
Oh, It's so confusing. I wish you'd just confess.
But think of what I'd be losin', if your answer isn't yes.

So complicated I'm so frustrated,I wanna hold you close,
I wanna push you away,
I wanna make you go,
I wanna make you stay.
Should I say it, should I tell you how I feel.
Oh I want you to know, but then again I don't,
It's so complicated.

Oh, I hate it. 'Cuz I've waited.
So long for someone like you
Oh, what do I do. Oh should I say it.
Should I tell you how I feel.
I want you to know, but then again
I don't.It's so complicated.. I
t's so complicated.. It's so complicated.Ohh.."

"I have wondered this world far and wide
I've been all around to the other side
But there's nothin' like comin' home
I wanna sit on my front porch and drink my lemonade
Cut my grass after church every Sunday
And go out on Saturday nightLive the simple life

Wake up in the morning to these fields of gold
And take a long walk down a gravel road

Spend my days in the sweet sunshine
Rock in my swing and watch my garden grow
Know that I'll always have someone to hold
Oh I-I-I wanna live the simple life

I wanna take a blanket down to the creek
And let the water sing me to sleep
Let go of time
Live the simple life
Lately I've seen too many city lights
I wanna go somewhere where I can see the stars at night

Spend my days in the sweet sunshine
Rock in my swing and watch my garden grow
Know that I'll always have someone to hold
Oh I-I-I wanna live the simple life
Spend my days in the sweet sunshine
Rock in my swing and watch my garden grow
Know that I'll always have someone to hold
Oh I-I-I wanna live the simple life"

Danielle Peck - Findin' a Good Man

This song by Danielle Peck titled, Here’s to Findin’ a Good Man, is a cute song that is focused towards the female crowd. This song is talking about everything that goes into finding the perfect male prospect. Then she goes on a little tangent in the middle of the song and cheers to the liars, cheaters, superficial players, the “I love you too” sayers, and the cold mistreaters. She then toasts to women around the world to finding a good man and luck wished to them. Here are the lyrics for Danielle Peck’s, Here’s to Findin’ a Good Man:

SheDaisy - "This Women Needs"

This song by SheDaisy is another one of those anthems that women should know and listen to everywhere. This particular song by SheDaisy is called “This Women Needs”. This is a slower paced song as it should be. This song tells you all the things and important aspect a women asks for from a male in her life. What a women needs: a safe place to land, somewhere to cry, to lay by my side, strength of your hands, and to hear that she is beautiful… now is that too much to ask for. Just Kidding. If you are feeling a little neglect from a male in your life this song is a cute pick me up. Here are the lyrics for “This women Needs”:

"This woman that takes on the world
And picks up your shirts, keeps it together somehow
This same woman, that melts with your touch
Wants you to feel what I'm feeling right now
'Cause this woman needs
A safe place to land
The strength in your hands
To know you know
What this woman needsIs somewhere to cry
So lay by my side
And I'll tell you, I'll tell you
This woman needs to be reassured
That my heart's your home and love is what wills you to stay
I need you to see me in every light
And hear that you still think I'm beautiful anyway
'Cause this woman needs
A safe place to landThe strength in your hands
To know you know
What this woman needs
Is somewhere to cry
So lay by my side
And I'll tell you, I'll tell you
What this woman needs
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, what this woman needs
Is somewhere to crySo lay by my side
And I'll tell you, I'll tell you
What this woman needs
Yeah, what this woman needs
Yeah, yeah, yeah - What this woman needs"

Sammy Kershaw "Love of My Life"

This particular song by Sammy Kershaw, “Love of My Life” you can find on my all time favorite playlist on my IPod and someday will be played at my wedding. This song tells how it is when you love somebody with all your heart, when someone truly is the love of your life. How he needs his wife from day in and day out and all of his true feelings that men are never good at sharing. When he cries, they are tears of joy, all he needs is her, and he promises his love forever. This song is a cute love song and the perfect song to be played at a wedding or any romantic event. Sammy Kershaw’s lyrics are:

“You are the love of my life
And you are the reason I'm alive
And baby baby baby
When I think of how you saved me
I go crazy

I've never known love like this
And it fills me with a new tenderness
And I know I know I knowY
ou're in my heart you're in my soul
You're all I can't resistA
nd I need to tell you
The first time I held youI knew you are the love of my lifeI spent a lifetime waiting
Always hesitating until youI was lost so deep inside my shell
'Til you came and saved me from myself
Now all I really know
Is I need you

And you are the love of my life
All the joy and tears that I cryAnd baby baby baby
You don't have to say a word
I see it in your eyes
As we stand together
I promise forever'Til the day that I die
You are the love of my lifeI spent a lifetime waiting
Always hesitating until youI was lost so deep inside my shell
'Til you came and saved me from myself
Now all I really knowIs I need you
You are the love of my life
You are the reason I'm alive”

Martina McBride "Loves The Only House"

Not only is Martina McBride a wonderful singer and gorgeous at that, she definitely has a way of touching people’s hearts and reaching out to people with her lyrics. There are many of Martina Mcbride’s songs that have a deeper meaning if you just take a step back and listen to the lyrics. This song by Martina McBride “Loves The Only House” is a song that says that love is the only way you can get rid of the pain in your life, it doesn’t have to be a marriage or a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship either, they type of love Martina is relating to in this song is the love and relationships between friends, neighbors, and strangers. Please take the time to read the lyrics and hopefully you can spread these lyrics on and the love on to a stranger. The lyrics are:

"I was standing in the grocery store line
The one they marked express
When this woman came through with about 25 things
And I said "don't you know that more is less"
She said "This world is moving so fastI just get more behind every day
And every morning when I make my coffee
I can't believe my life's turned out this way"

All I could say was...Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain
He was walking by the other day and
I said"Hey baby how you been?
Yeah, I got me a little girl now and she's 4 years old and she's got her daddy's little grin
You only wanted what you can't have
And baby you can't have me nowI gave me heart to another
Yeah I'm a mother and he's a father
And we're a family And we've got each other
And I found out the hard way that...

"Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain
You drive three miles from all this prosperity, down across the river and you see a ghetto there
And we got children walking around with guns
And they got knives and drugs and pain to spare
And here I am in my clean, white shirt
With a little money in my pocket and a nice warm homeA
nd we got teenagers walkin' around in a culture of darkness, livin' together alone
All I can say is...

Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain
And I can't explain it and I can't understand
But I'll come down and get my hands dirty and together we'll make a stand
Somewhere cross the parking lot some bands playin out of tune
City streets are gonna burn if we don't do somethin soon
And senorita can't quit cryin, baby's due now any day
Don Juan left, got sick of tryinNo one there to show him the way
She came down to the grocery store She said "I, I wanna buy a little carton of milk but I don't have any money"I said "hey I'll cover you honey, cause the pain's gotta go somewhere"
Yeah the pain's gotta go someplace
So come on down to my house

Don't you know that
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love's the only house big enough for all the pain"

Carrie Underwood "Lessons Learned"

Carrie Underwood’s lyrics are always amazing, I am always the first person to go out and buy her new albums or go research her lyrics. One of my favorite songs from her first album is titled “Lessons Learned”. This song is about the little lessons in life that they only way you can learn from them are by making these mistakes and taking corrective action to change the type of situation you are in or could be in, in the future. This song talks about the little lessons along the way that you may regret, or the words you wish you would of never said, or some bad moments in life that you have experienced, yet you can’t change them, you can’t go back in time so you simply face these life lessons and learn from them. Then towards the end the lyrics are thankful for the mistakes, bad times, broken hearts, and scars through life because it only can make a person stronger. The lyrics to Carrie Underwood’s “Lessons Learned” are:

“There's some things that I regret,
Some words I wish had gone unsaid,
Some starts,That had some better endings,
Been some bad times I've been through,
Damage I cannot undo.
Some things,I wish I could do all all over again,
But it don't really matter,
When life gets that much harder,
It makes you that much stronger,
Oh, some pages turned,
Some bridges burned,
But there were,Lessons learned.

And every tear that had to fall from my eyes,
And every day I wondered how I'd get through the night,
Every change, life has thrown me,
I'm thankful, for every break in my heart,
I'm grateful, for every scar,
Some pages turned,
Some bridges burned,
But there were lessons learned.

There's mistakes that I have made,
Some chances I just threw away,
Some roads,I never should have taken,
Been some signs I didn't see,
Hearts that I hurt needlessly,
Some wounds,That I wish I could have one more chance to mend,
But it don't make no difference,
The past can't be rewritten,
You get the life you're given,
Oh, some pages turned,
Some bridges burned,
But there were,Lessons learned.

And every tear that had to fall from my eyes,
And every day I wondered how I'd get through the night,
Every change, life has thrown me,
I'm thankful, for every break in my heart,
I'm grateful, for every scar,
Some pages turned,Some bridges burned,
But there were lessons learned

.And all the things that break you,
Are the things that make you strong!
You can't change the past,
Cause it's gone. And you just gotta move on,
Because it's all
Lessons learned.

And every tear that had to fall from my eyes,
From everyday I wondered how I'd get through the night,
From every change, life has thrown me.
I'm thankful, for every break in my heart,
I'm grateful, for every scar,
Some pages turned,
Some bridges burned,
But there were lessons learned,
Oh, some pages turned,
Some bridges burned,
But there were lessons learned,
Lessons learned.Lessons learned.”

Chris Cagle "Look What I Found"

Whenever I have a friend that thinks that looking for the perfect person and in desperate search for Mr. Right, I always have them look up this song by Chris Cagle, “Look What I Found”. I have probably referred this particular Chris Cagle song to many of my girlfriends that were down and out because they had just broken up with their loved ones, and they were on the hunt and search for another guy, and I simply tell them my story which goes along with the lyrics of this song, “Look what I found, when I wasn’t looking.. look what I found, when I was just being me”. I wasn’t looking for a relationship or looking for a man at all, but when I laid eyes on my boyfriend... I knew he was my Mr. Right. This song tells you not to go out on a search for a person to be with, simply be yourself and it will come naturally. The lyrics of “Look What I Found” by Chris Cagle are:

"For so long, I searched in desperation
For one love, that would always be true
I came close, but there were always complications
I finally decided there was nothing
I could doSo I gave up
And I let goAnd as soon as I did
Wouldn't you know

Just look what I found when I wasn't looking
Look what I found when I was just being me
I turned around and love was mine for the taking
Look what I found when she found me

Now there's a lot of lonely people out there waitingA
nd there's a lot of lonely people searching too
But if you've got too many expectations
You might miss the one who's right in front of you
No telling when
No telling whyS
he'll say hello and you'll knowY
ou'll never say goodbye

Just look what I found when I wasn't looking
Look what I found when I was just being me
I turned around and love was mine for the taking
Look what I found when she found me
And every single day I'm still surprised
When I turn around and I look into her eyes
I'm a like a kid who won a prize

Look what I found
Just look at what I found
Just look what I found when I wasn't looking
Look what I found when I was just being me
I turned around and love was mine for the taking
Look what I found when she found me"

Josh Gracin "Brass Bed"

This song “Brass Bed” is performed by Josh Gracin and is also one of my absolute favorite artists, I know I say that about every artist and every song I talk about but I guess you can say I am one dye heart country fan. That’s me. This song is cute how a man is telling his significant other that its too cold outside that she cant leave and go home, or how the clock on the wall is lying so she shouldn’t be leaving yet, filled with little excuses why she should stay with him and spend more time together. He wants her to stay with him and share secrets together and wake up to the morning sun together. Which I think if you are truly in love that even as much as waking up together is super special. This song “Brass Bed”, it’s lyrics are listed below:

"Baby, the clock on the wall is lying
It's not really that late
It's too cold outside to be walking around the streets of this town
And wherever you think you have to be can wait
So why don't you stay with me
Share all your secrets tonight
We can make believe the morning sun never will rise
Come and lay your head on this big brass bed
And we'll be alright as long as you stay with me,
yeahBaby, there is just no use in hiding

The way that I am feeling right now
With you standing there baby I swear I can't help but stare
Girl you're wearing me out, wearing me out
Baby, stay with me share all your secrets tonight
We can make believe the morning sun never will rise

Come and lay your head on this big brass bed
We'll be alright as long as you stay with me
Baby don't go it looks like it's starting to rain
And it's so warm here in this apartment wrapped up in this blanket

So stay, Stay with me
Share all your secrets tonight
We can make believe the morning sun never will rise
Come and lay your head on this big brass bed
And we'll be alright as long as you stay with me
I'll be alright as long as you stay with me, yeahStay with me"

Andy Griggs "She Thinks She Needs Me"

Andy Griggs has performed numerous of my favorite songs that you can find in my favorite playlists and many songs of his can be found on my IPod. He is wonderful at love songs which most of my favorite of his are slow love songs. This particular song is about a man and a women that are in love. The women thinking that her husband is great and she would never be able to spend a day without him, then in the end the song switches to he is the one that is lucky and the one that truly needs her love, touch, kiss, and just simply her. When they are lying together, she thinks he’s holding her, but really she is holding him. This is a cute little love song that most men are too macho to share with the significant other, so Andy Griggs is here to state what and how he feels about the love in his life. Andy Griggs “She thinks She Needs Me” lyrics are as follows:

“She thinks I walk on water
She thinks I hung the moon
She tells me every morning, "They just don’t make men like you"
She thinks I’ve got it together
She swears I’m as tough as nails
But I don’t have the heart to tell her
She don’t know me that well

She don’t know how much I need her
She don’t know I’d fall apart
Without her kiss, without her touch
Without her faithful, loving arms
She don’t know that it’s all about her
She don’t know I can’t live without her
She’s my world, she’s my everything A
nd she thinks she needs me

Sometimes she cries on my shoulder
When she’s lying next to me
But she don’t know that when I hold her
That she’s really holding me, holding me S
he don’t know how much I need her
She don’t know I’d fall apart Without her kiss, without her touch
Without her faithful, loving arms
She don’t know that it’s all about her
She don’t know I can’t live without her
She’s my world, she’s my everything A
nd she thinks she needs me

Yeah, and the funny thing is
She thinks she’s the lucky one
She don’t know how much I need her
She don’t know I’d fall apart
Without her kiss, without her touch
Without her faithful, loving arms
She don’t know that it’s all about her
She don’t know I can’t live without her
She’s my world, she’s my everything
And she thinks she needs me
She thinks I walk on water
She thinks I hung the moon”

Jessica Andrews "Helplessly, Hopelessly, Recklessly"

This is a song performed by Country Music Artist Jessica Andrews, the song titled “Helplessly, Hopelessly, Recklessly”. This song is a chic song for sure, it talks about the fun things about dating and falling in love. This song is about a women that can face the world with no worries, and is a strong willed and strong hearted women, she can face the toughest fight, she can stand to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders, but when she is with this particular man, she is careless, weak in the knees, and completely defenseless.. and this is what is telling her that she is helplessly, hopelessly, recklessly falling in love. This song has a slower beat as most love songs do and the lyrics are as follows:

“I can stand with the weight of the world
On my shoulders
I can fight with the toughest of the tough
I can laugh in the face
Of all my insecurities
Anytime, anywhere, anything
I'm strong enough

But when you're holding me like this
I'm carelessly lost in your touch
I'm completely defenseless
Baby, it's almost too much
I'm helplessly, hopelessly, recklessly
Falling in love

So let consequence do what it will to us
I don't care
Let the stars stand as witness to it allS
ay the word and tonight I will follow you anywhere
I just can't pretend anymore
I'm too sturdy to fall

But when you're holding me like this
I'm carelessly lost in your touch
I'm completely defenseless
Baby, it's almost too much
I'm helplessly, hopelessly, recklessly
Falling in loveI am not afraid
I am not afraid

'Cause when you're holding me like this
I'm carelessly lost in your touch
I'm completely defenseless
Baby, it's almost too much
I'm helplessly, hopelessly, recklessly
Falling...(Helplessly, hopelessly, recklessly falling)
I'm helplessly, hopelessly, recklessly Falling in love”

Mindy McCready "Guys Do It All The Time"

This song written by Mindy Mcready is definitely a tribute to women and should be some sort of anthem. This song in a nutshell talks about how guys do it all the time, and get away with it, and women should be able to as well. So Mindy writes this song as an answer to men that hey, if you can act crazy, drink beer, watch sports all day, then women should have those same rights. This song is fun and a cute song to listen to if that boy of yours is on your bad side.

"Got in this morning at 4 AM
Your as mad as you can be
Well I was drinking and talkingA
nd you know how that goes
Time just slipped away from me

By the time I knew what time it was
It was to late to call home
Stop carrying on and acting like a child
I wasn't doing anything wrong

Guys do it all the time And you expect us to understand
When the shoe's on the other foot
You know that's when it hits the fan
Get over it honey life's a two way street
Or you won't be a man of mine
So I had some beers with the girls last night
Guys do it all the time

I know I left my clothes all over the place
And I took your twenty bucks
No I didn't get the front yard cut
Cause I had to wash my truck
Will you bring me a cold one baby
Turn on the TV
We'll talk about this laterT
here's a ballgame I wanna see

Guys do it all the time And you expect us to understand
When the shoe's on the other foot
You know that's when it hits the fan
Get over it honey life's a two way street
Or you won't be a man of mine
So I had some beers with the girls last night
Guys do it all the time

You look like you just took A long look in the mirror
Tell me baby if things don't look
A whole lot clearer, ooh
Get over it honey life's a two way street
Or you won't be a man of mine

So I had some beers with the girls last nigh
tGuys do it all the time
Yeah guys do itYeah guys do it
All the time, all the timeYeah guys do it
Yeah guys do it
All the time"

Gary Allen "The One"

This song was also performed by artist Gary Allen, titled “The One”. This song is about the beginning of a relationship between two people that are just getting to know each other. In the beginning one is telling the other that “we can take this relationship slow” and that “there is no rush” when it comes to their relationship. It basically says that one will wait and take a step back and do whatever has to be done to make the other partner feel comfortable and ready to take the next step in their relationship. And to take the time needed to make sure that the other is “The One”. This song could quite possibly be a song written about Gary trying to start up his love life again, but of course I am not positive. The lyrics are as follows:

”No rush though I need your touch
I won't rush your heart
Until you feel on solid ground
Until your strength is found, girl

I'll fill those canyons in your soul
Like a river lead you home
And I'll walk a step behind
In the shadows so you shine
Just ask it will be done
And I WILL prove my love
Until you're sure that I'm "the one"

Somebody else was here before
He treated you unkind
And broken wings need time to heal
Before a heart can fly, girl
I'll fill those canyons in your soul
Like a river lead you home
And I'll walk a step behind
In the shadows so you shine

Just ask it will be done
And I will prove my love
Until you're sure that I'm "the one"
Trust in me and you'll find a heart so true
All I want to do is give the best of me to you
And stand beside you Just ask it will be done
And I WILL prove my love
Until you're sure that I'm "the one"

Gary Allen "Right Where I need to Be"

Gary Allen has had a few rough years throughout his career, and I’m not talking about his music career, I am talking about his personal life. Gary’s wife had committed suicide a few years back and a lot of his music touches on how he was feeling during the time of his loss. The next few blogs will be analyzing his lyrics as he is a great song writer and artist, also one of my favorites. “Right Where I need to Be” is a song performed by Gary Allen the lyrics are as follows:

“There's a plane flyin' outta here tonight
Destination New Orleans
Boss man says my big promotion's on the line
He says that's right where I need to be

Lately I've been on the road more than I've been home
All this leavin' her alone is killin' me
And holdin' her right now has got me thinkin' more and more
This is right where I need to be

Where when I hear her I can see herI can smell her sweet perfume
I can feel her skin against me when I sleep
Where I won't miss her I can kiss her
Anytime that I want to
Yeah that's right where I need to be
Yeah that's right where I need to be

There's a plane flyin' outta here tonight
With an empty first class seat
'Cause I've finally got all my priorities in line
And I'm right where I need to be

Where when I hear her I can see her
I can smell her sweet perfume
I can feel her skin against me when I sleep
Where I won't miss her
I can kiss herAnytime that I want to
Yeah that's right where I need to be
Yeah I'm right where I need to be”

This song is referring to a business man that takes all his time away from his family and his wife. When he realizes what his prioritizes in life are and gets them straight he knows that where he needs to be is at home with the women he loves.

Gary Allen "Life aint always Beautiful"

This song performed by Gary Allen is a sad song. Period. And my best guess would be this song was in tribute to his wife that died. This song talks about how life is just plain hard sometimes, and that no life “aint” always beautiful. It talks about how you think your life is just right and going according to plan, then boom, you hit a dead end road, or in Gary Allen’s case, life takes his wife away from him. How he wishes he could see his wife's face, but he can only dream, and how everything in life is going to be and turn out... okay. Life aint always beautiful, but a beautiful ride is how Gary Allen finishes this song. I had a cat die a few years back, that was only a kitten, and every time I listened to this song I would cry my eyes out. The lyrics to “Life Ain’t Always Beautiful” are as follows:

“Life ain't always beautiful
Sometimes it's just plain hard
Life can knock you down, it can break your heart
Life ain't always beautiful
You think you're on your way
And it's just a dead end road at the end of the dayB
ut the struggle makes you stronger
And the changes make you wise
And happiness has it's own way of takin' it sweet time

No,life aint always beautiful
Tears will fall sometimes
Life aint always beautiful
But it's a beautiful ride
Life aint always beautiful
Some days I miss your smile
I get tired of walkin' all these lonely miles

And I wish for just one minute
I could see your pretty face
Guess I can dream, but life dont work that way
But the struggles makes me stronger
And the changes make me wise
And happiness has it's own way of takin' its sweet time
No, life aint always beautiful But I know I'll be fine
Hey, life aint always beautiful
But its a beautiful rideWhat a beautiful ride”

Taylor Swift Fearless

Grammys
I was watching the Grammy’s the other night and Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) did a duet of one of Taylors new singles off of her new album. I think they both did a good job, as performing In front of a large live audience probably isn’t that easiest thing to do. As the song went on I honestly believe that Miley sang the song better than Taylor Swift did, and that’s her own song she wrote!! I understand all the hype surrounds Taylor Swift with her voice and song writing ability, but I honestly don’t think she is much to listen to. Her songs definitely don’t pertain to me, and her lyrics are written and directed towards 15 year olds.
Hats off to Taylor Swift for her awesome Career but honestly I don’t care for Taylor Swift’s new CD. It is written and directed toward tweens, and doesn’t interest me.

Here is the list of songs you can find on Taylor Swifts new CD;

Fearless
Fifteen
Love Story
Hey Stephen
White Horse
You Belong With Me
Breathe
Tell Me Why
Your Not Sorry
The Way I loved You
Forever & Always
The Best Day

I Personally have seen Jerrod Niemann and he is definitely a must see. I also went to a concert last year and they features Chris Young (as you may have remembered him from television), and Stephen Cochran. Its fun to see these new artists perform before they go big, and then to follow then through country music afterwords!

Church Camp

So I know this has nothing to do with Music, but I had a amazing experience this summer that I have never really talked nor written about. I had the chance to be a camp consular at a Christian church camp this summer. A week before we left for southern Illinois I was very hesitant about going, I was trying to think of any and every excuse to get out of going. I had a new boyfriend I didn’t want to leave, I hate missing social events, and I knew nobody. I get a phone call from my youth pastor the week before we left stating that I would have to bring an air mattress, sleeping bags, bug spray, and citronella candles… Now why on earth would I need all of these supplies for a silly church camp? Well I soon found out after arriving at camp. For 5 days straight I would be sleeping in a Hogan (to picture a Hogan, simply picture wooden floors with a roof, no walls). I don’t like bugs, I don’t like sleeping outside, I don’t think I am responsible enough to be in charge of 13 8-year old girls, and I’m not liking camp at this point. The first few nights sleep was non-existent, mosquito bites were everywhere, and the presence of children surrounded me.

I got to know this girls on a deeper basis, I actually fell in love with all of them! The way they felt about Christ and how god was living through them was awesome, they taught me a lot those 5 days. The 5th night came quicker than I thought and I was so used to the bugs, the heat, the kids, and the outdoors that I slept like a baby. This was definitely an experience I will never forget…. Yet never do again.

Why I love Country Music!!

The last 5 years is when I have really gotten into country music and truly analyzing the lyrics. When I hear a certain song on the radio I am very quick to recognize the artist and song title right away. I guess I music is just a huge part of my life! I listen to my iPod about every chance I get and any spare time I have I am downloading songs and looking up their lyrics. I guess I can blame it on my parents for loving country music so much. I grew up listening to classic country with my father; country music was always on in his truck. My favorite is when the Oakridge Boy’s “Elvira” song would come on and he would sing along like he had a long white beard and a part of the Boys. If you knew my father, he is quite quiet and reserved so listening to him sing along to a country favorite was always a treat.

My favorite thing to do is download a complete album or albums of an artist I like and listen to it in its entirety. I usually find a few songs that I go crazy over and I never get sick of it because not all tracks from a CD come out on the radio. And then usually if it does I already know the song and lyrics and my friends are amazed at how I know this new song that just came out on the radio… Today!! I have recently done this with Julianne Hough’s and James Otto’s new albums, and yes I have found many tracks that I know consider my favorites!!

Toby Keith Concert Review

So I told you all I would be back to write a review on the Toby Keith Concert… so here I am. The concert was in Peoria and was FREE!! I won tickets off the radio for answering some stupid question right, which makes for an even better time knowing you aren’t spending any of your own money. First off the concert was AMAZING!! To start off the night Jason Aldean was full of energy, running in all sorts of different directions, yelling and screaming, and bouncing up and down. He had stated at the beginning of the night this particular concert was being filmed for his next music video, which got the crows kinda wild and crazy... that led to all around good performance by Toby Keith. Toby’s ambiance was big and bad, just like the name of the tour.. “The Biggest and Baddest Tour”. There was fireworks that went off at certain times of his popular songs, and the screens were playing his music videos during the concert. The songs listed below were included in his concert;

· God Love Her
· How do You Like Me Now
· I Wanna Talk About Me
· You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like That
· Love Me If You Can
· Courtesy Of The Red, White, & Blue
· She Never Cried In Front of Me
· I’ll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again
· Who’s Your Daddy
· Beer For My Horses
· I Love This Bar

In the middle of Toby’s song “I Love This Bar”, he wanted the crowd to sing along, so he stopped the song and said a buddy of his was in Iceland for new years and when this song came on, the whole bar was singing, and that’s when the crowd joined in. The only thing that would of made this concert better was if Willie Nelson came out and joined in singing “Beer For My Horses”.

Wedding Songs

Marriage is one thing a women dreams about, the perfect man, the perfect day, the perfect dress, hair, nails and makeup let’s just face it… women want that day to be perfect. If you’re crazy about lyrics, songs and country music like I am the perfect song is also something you need for the perfect wedding. I know marriage is in the not-so-near future for me but that doesn’t mean I can’t dream about this so called perfect day in advance right? So I, over the years, have compiled a list of songs that I would love to be played at my wedding or maybe just a few but I can’t choose just one!! These songs I have chosen are all sappy love songs, so if all of them were played, we would have everybody in tears. So here it goes;

1. Michael Peterson – From Here to Eternity
2. Andy Griggs – You Won’t Ever Be Lonely
3. Reba McEntire – The Heart Won’t Lie
4. Tracy Byrd – Keeper of the Stars
5. Martina McBride – I Love You
6. Garth Brooks – In Another’s Eyes
7. Tim McGraw – My Best Friend
8. Diamond Rio – One More Day
9. Clint Black – When I say I Do
10. Shania Twain – You’re Still the One
11. Shania Twain – From This Moment
12. Brian White – You Know How I Feel
13. John Michael Montgomery – Heaven Sent Me You
14. Jimmy Wayne – You are
15. John Michael Montgomery – I Swear

These are just a few songs that I would LOVE to be able to play at my wedding—someday. I just need to find me the perfect man that will let all of those decisions up to me (I think mines pretty darn getting close) ;). If you don’t recognize any of these titles I recommend you search the lyrics or even go download one!!

Toby Keith Biggest & Baddest Tour

I am going to the Toby Keith concert tonight at the Peoria Civic Center!! I'll come back and give a review and hopefully some pictures!!!!!

Classic Country

Okay… who is sick of hearing the same 20 songs over and over on the radio? The radio is not the only one that’s guilty of it either… all countdowns day after day are the same!! I am personally a fan of Country Classics and Legends, listening to those songs over and over will never get old to me, this is why I listen to my IPod 95% of the time and the other 5% is me listening to my radio or a countdown but only if I have to. On a local radio station in my hometown has a Classic Country section on Sunday nights from 7 to 10. I think this is a great idea to focus more on what everyone likes and will all around attract more listeners is they broaden what they play. I like the oldies but goodies but I also like to pull out my IPod and listen to a playlist from when I was younger, so these songs are not classics yet but they are still older. I think it would be a real hit if there was a radio station that played songs 5 years old and older, this means no new songs being overplayed and we can finally here the songs we grew up on that we haven’t heard in years!! I put together a list of artists that I would love to hear their older songs played on the radio:

1. Billy Ray Cyrus
2. Chris Ledux
3. Billy Dean
4. Hank Williams Jr & Sr
5. Andy Griggs
6. Dwight Yoakam
7. George Jones
8. Clint Black
9. Travis Tritt
10. Tracy Lawrence

I’m sure my list could go on forever but these are my top ten oldies by goodies!

GAC vs. CMT

I’ll be honest; I am a fan of Great American Country (GAC) versus Country Music Television (CMT). It seems that every time you turn on CMT there are stupid shows about how to be a good wife (Wifeswap) or how to raise your kids (Nanny 911) or how hillbillies want to have the most redneck weddings (My Big Redneck Wedding). Comparing CMT to GAC, every time you tune in to GAC there is country music playing, which in my opinion is the way it should be. There is either award shows showing live performances, The Grand Ole Opry with live performances and inductees, top 20 countdown, or simply just new artists with new songs just begging to get their names out there. I think this is how a country music television should be, 100% music with the artists and songs we love!! Below is a list of GAC’s & CMT’s top 10 country songs as of today, January 2009.

GAC
  1. Blake Shelton She Wouldn't Be Gone
  2. Carrie Underwood Just A Dream
  3. Trace Adkins Muddy Water
  4. Kellie Pickler Don't You Know You're Beautiful
  5. Billy Ray Cyrus Somebody Said A Prayer
  6. Sugarland Already Gone
  7. Miranda Lambert More Like Her
  8. Brooks & Dunn Cowgirls Don't Cry
  9. Josh Turner Everything Is Fine
  10. Taylor Swift Love Story

CMT

  1. Taylor Swift Love Story
  2. Zac Brown Band Chicken Fried
  3. Toby Keith God Love Her
  4. Brad Paisley Start a Band
  5. Jamey Johnson In Color
  6. Alan Jackson Country Boy
  7. Dierks Bently Feel That Fire
  8. Blake Shelton She Wouldn't Be Gone
  9. Miranda Lambert More Like Her
  10. Brooks & Dunn Cowgirls Don't Cry

Now you be the judge... Who's countdown are you a fan of?? CMT or GAC?

Sugarland's "It Happens"

Sugarland’s performance at the CMA’s was simply amazing… Jennifer Nettles has a beautiful voice!! My favorite song is Stay, that’s just simply one of those songs you have to turn up super loud in your car and just belt it out and sing like nobody is watching. And yes I am guilty of this, especially when Sugarland comes on the radio! This past summer I bought their new album Love on the inside and all I want to do (get it, that’s a song of theres ;) ) is listen and sing along. Another favorite of mine is the second track off their Love on the Inside album called It Happens.

“Ain't no rhyme or reason
No complicated meaning
Ain't no need to over think itLet go laughing
Life don't go quite like you planned it
We try so hard to understandIrrefutable, indisputable
The fact is, Psssh… It happens”

This song is about the true human being in life that makes mistakes and is, nope, not perfect. The song starts off by her missing her alarm clock, running late to work, with no cup of coffee, no shower and when she arrives to work she realizes oh hell there is no story or explanation, no rhyme reason or complicated meaning, it happens. This song is fun in the sense that you can admit how you’re not perfect and sit back and laugh and simple say PSSSSH… IT HAPPENS!!!!

Aaron Tippin Concert

After I listed all of the concerts I have attended, one special concert came to mind. It was the Aaron Tippin concert about 3 years ago at the local fair in Bloomington. Once you paid the admission for the fair the concert was FREE!! (B104 the local radio station does this every summer). Before Aaron even took the stage there was some cover band that played a few songs that everybody knew and sang along to. I can still remember what I was wearing- a pair of white shorts, a teal tank top, and a real cowgirl hat I stole from a friend. In between artist’s the guys from B104’s morning show Brent and Kevin were up on stage throwing out free T-shirts, it came down to the last shirt and they announced that who ever caught this certain shirt would get to bring a friend and sit in front of the front row!! Of course I didn’t catch it but a guy that was a few rows ahead of me did. Brent and Kevin told him to choose wisely and come up on stage; somebody from the crowd yelled “pick a hot chick”. So this guy stood on his chair looked around as if he were looked out to the sea and pointed at ME!!! I had no clue who this kid was and still to this day don’t know his name, but it made for a good time!! The concert was great and after the concert we got to go back by his bus to get pictures and autographs with him!! The highlight of my summer was when he looked at me, hugged me, and then said “You have the most beautiful smile I have ever seen.” Ummm… I was IN HEAVEN!!!

Concerts I've Attended

You might consider myself a little obsessed when I site here and list all the Country Music artists I have seen in concert but I will give it a whirl to see if I can name them all…

  1. Kenny Chesney
  2. Rascal Flatts (2x)
  3. Craig Morgan
  4. Trent Tomlinson
  5. Aaron Tippin
  6. Joe Diffe
  7. Trace Adkins
  8. Leahy (Shania Twain’s backup band)
  9. Dierks Bently (2x)
  10. Bucky Covington
  11. Luke Bryan
  12. Toby Keith
  13. Miranda Lambert (2x)
  14. Randy Rodgers Band
  15. Chris Young
  16. George Strait
  17. Travis Tritt

There are probably others artists that opened for the bigger names that I can’t remember either due to because they were quite a bit ago… or due to the drink in my right hand. My all time favorite concert was Rascal Flatts. There stage present just made kept your attention the entire time because of how big and extravagant the concert was. My least favorite concert had to be George Strait, I love George Strait’s older songs and he just sang all of his new songs which I personally am not a fan of. He also just kind of sat on his stool and played music, which ill give it to him, he is old.. but I like the concerts where the artist's get the crowd into it and make it more fun for everyone!!!! Leahy was at the Illinois State University Braden Auditorium, I went with my mother and it was pretty cool to spend some time with her doing something we both like. Leahy is Shania Twains old backup band so it’s all fiddles, pianos, and river dancing. I used to listen to this CD as a child so it brought back a few childhood memories.

Carrie Underwood's "I Told You So"

Okay… what girl doesn’t LOVE Carrie Underwood? Guys too for that matter!! She is drop dead gorgeous, fun, young, a good loving Christian, and a All American Girl (as her lyrics will agree with me)!! I think my favorite thing about Carrie Underwood is how real she is. Since she did “come from” American Idol she truly knows what it’s like to be a fan and really knows what normal is like!! Carrie Underwood’s new album Carnival Ride is a must have! Her new single off this album is I Told You So which was redone after Randy Travis had originally sang this song I think about twenty years ago. Although Randy Travis is an awesome person and I respect his music, Carrie’s version is a bit more hip, which Randy Travis says himself, which I saw on GAC when Carrie Underwood was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. This song I Told You So is about a female or male who call’s up her ex after a while of being broken up and says:

“Suppose I called you up tonightAnd told you that I love youAnd suppose I said I want to come back homeAnd suppose I cried and said I think I finally learned my lesson And Im tired of spending all my time aloneIf I told you that I realized you're all I ever wanted And it's killing me to be so far awayWould you tell my that you love me tooAnd would we cry together Or would you simply laugh at me and say...”

Then it goes into saying I told you so… & how the ex has found somebody new and things simply just won’t be the same.

James Otto's New Album - MY NEW FAV!!

I was never a fan of James Otto… his first few songs were ugh okay. This was my opinion about Mr. Otto until I download his first album onto my album… not you can consider me HOOKED!! I was watching CMT’s Cribs the other day, and he just seems like a down to earth man. His wife was gorgeous, his house was amazing, and you can tell that life for him was going good… he just seemed happy. I guess I would be happy too if I was doing what I love and making millions!! If James Otto has a concert anywhere remotely close to Bloomington-Normal you can consider my butt THERE!!!
If you were to ask me what my favorite James Otto song is, I would probably start with one, and then continue on and on as if you asked me what songs did he even sing! My favorites are “For You”, “You Don’t Act like my Women”, “Sunset Man”, and “Drink and Dial”. Yes most of these are slow and a traditional country song, but I think that’s why I’m a fan.
“For You” talks about how this guy will do anything for his female yet the only thing she wants is for him to leave her alone and find someone new… and he ends the song with I can’t do that for you.
“You Don’t Act like my Women” is a recent find for me, and just heard it for the first time a days ago. This song is about a couple that is going there the fussin’ and fighting that any couple goes through, and how he will be the man of the relationship and drop his wall and apologize and take the blame for everything because “You don’t act like my woman and I don’t feel like your man”.

Rascal Flatts "Here Comes Goodbye"

I myself have attended more than a few Concerts of the admired Rascal Flatts, and I must say they are my by far-- favorite. I must not be the only one that thinks Rascal Flatts is amazing because they were Academy of Country Music Top Vocal Group for 2008!!! I’m not going lie, my all time favorite country music group/band is Rascal Flatts... The band members are young and fun, there lyrics definitely belong in country music, and there concerts are simply amazing. I am usually the first to go out and buy their new album when they come out and the first to know every word to just about every single song they sing. The first single from their upcoming album Unstoppable is "Here Comes Goodbye." This album comes out in April and you best believe that I will be the first to own it! Their new single is a traditional sad and sappy country love ballad, but those are my favorite kind!! There songs are usually tearjerkers and this song as well, this new song is talking about a relationship that is about to end, and the end (goodbye) is near.

The chorus is as followed:

“Here comes goodbye
Here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I’m gonna cry
Here comes the pain
Here comes me wishing things would never change
And she was right here in my arms tonight
But here comes goodbye”

Julianne Hough "My Hallelujah Song"

At first there was going to be no way that I was going to like any of Julianne Hough's songs, my first impression was that just because she was a dancer on a Television show that she was going to come over to the Country music industry and become famous. Well my first impression was wrong after I heard her song “My Hallelujah Song". I am a big Christian and when a country music artist could slip any form of the lord and savior into a song, I’m a fan. I first heard this song on Great American Country’s (GAC) Top Twenty Countdown about a month ago, and I was hooked. When you hear that song or watch the video she makes you want to get up and dance like you’re a kid again. That song is now number 17 on the countdown as it has dropped over the weeks. It’s still my number one pick when I turn on my IPod in the morning.
I am also a fan of Julianne Hough’s legs, talk about motivation when you catch your boyfriend salivating over her videos. On television and magazines there are pictures of her with the latest fashion and me, being a poor college gal wishes to take a step into her wardrobe. She is a cute little blonde that loves to dance and you can just tell she is full of life ready to make her career in singing and dancing.

Top Twenty Countdown - Blake Shelton

As of today, Blake Shelton is coming in at number one on Great American Country’s (GAC) Top Twenty Countdown with "She Wouldn’t be Gone.” I liked this song by Blake when I first heard it… about 3 months ago. Don’t get me wrong Blake the song is great, the lyrics are better, and you look smoking in the video, but why does a song stay on the countdowns for more than a month? It gets to the point where I can’t even watch GAC’s countdown because the top ten video’s are so outdated and overplayed on the local radio stations. I guess it does give the artist’s good publicity for the hard work that was put into each and every song, and I do appreciate that.

My favorite part of this song is:
“Wouldn't be driving like hell flying like crazy down the highway
Calling everyone we know stopping any place she might be
Going any place she might go beating on the dash
screaming out her name at the windshield”

This being my favorite part because it seems to be every time I am in my car alone I am guilty of getting way to into the song. My car starts to speed up, my voice gets a little louder with each word, and I start to take part in the song.
