Gary Allen "Right Where I need to Be"

Gary Allen has had a few rough years throughout his career, and I’m not talking about his music career, I am talking about his personal life. Gary’s wife had committed suicide a few years back and a lot of his music touches on how he was feeling during the time of his loss. The next few blogs will be analyzing his lyrics as he is a great song writer and artist, also one of my favorites. “Right Where I need to Be” is a song performed by Gary Allen the lyrics are as follows:

“There's a plane flyin' outta here tonight
Destination New Orleans
Boss man says my big promotion's on the line
He says that's right where I need to be

Lately I've been on the road more than I've been home
All this leavin' her alone is killin' me
And holdin' her right now has got me thinkin' more and more
This is right where I need to be

Where when I hear her I can see herI can smell her sweet perfume
I can feel her skin against me when I sleep
Where I won't miss her I can kiss her
Anytime that I want to
Yeah that's right where I need to be
Yeah that's right where I need to be

There's a plane flyin' outta here tonight
With an empty first class seat
'Cause I've finally got all my priorities in line
And I'm right where I need to be

Where when I hear her I can see her
I can smell her sweet perfume
I can feel her skin against me when I sleep
Where I won't miss her
I can kiss herAnytime that I want to
Yeah that's right where I need to be
Yeah I'm right where I need to be”

This song is referring to a business man that takes all his time away from his family and his wife. When he realizes what his prioritizes in life are and gets them straight he knows that where he needs to be is at home with the women he loves.
